Valentines Show?

alt="" />

Will there be a 2007 Valentines Show?
"What's Love Got to do with It?" & "What's Love got to do with It? Chapter 2" were art shows created by Heidi Darr-Hope and myself in 05 & 06. It started with a few fun photos and blew up into a very much talked about event that last year included 9 local artists showing mixed media, sculpture, video and performance art.
Its been a blast putting it on but a lot of work. We basically broke even last year as the event became more of an entertaining party than a sale of art. Which is what we expected.
Year one I had a video "Peeps Show" that screened behind a slatted closet door embellished with red satin and beads.
Images of: being out, Rocky Horror Picture Show the play, dancers in Africa and other sensual subjects were cut to a heavy percussive West African sound track.
Year two Heidi, Britta Cruz & myself mentored 3 artists, Mike Steinhelpher, Anastasia Chernoff and Mike Salmon.
Jeff Smith from Charlotte was our guest artist with beautiful photography.
Angela Howard and Louis Schniedman did an ariel performance piece.
Had an awesome time, great creative process and wonderful huge crowd.
I created an environment in a more intimate studio space complete with couch, Nigerian leather rug, candles and liqueur. Yoga, Cabaret and a romantic Italian wedding were contrasted in a mild erotic, raw & lovely short film that looped on a 3x4 ft screen.
Can we pull it off again this year?
Do we have the support?
We'll probably have to have a cover charge and get a bigger place.....
Everybody loves a sensual party!
