Hootie & The Blowfish Party with the Animals

The Animal Mission, the non-profit support group for The Columbia Animal Shelter held its 8th annual Party Animals concert and silent auction on March 2.
The event, sponsored by South Carolina Bank and Trust was held at the Clarion Town House Hotel on Gervais Street in Columbia. BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina was a sponsor.

Carrabba's Italian Grill served up some tasty food and the open bar was compliments of Orangeburg Distributing and Ben Arnold Company.

Harriet Green, Julie Ruff and Elaine Gillespie helped to pull off one of Columbia's best events.

I was thrilled to see one of my best high school buddies Julie Bell from Hilton Head at the party.

Saying hey to Craig Melvin.

History in the Making

Above is an old post card of the Woodrow Wilson house in Columbia,SC.
I've always loved hearing SC history and admit I don't know as much as I should about my home state. So, I'm thrilled to be working on projects like the Pacific Mills/Olympia projects and now the Woodrow Wilson House Restoration site. I am surrounded not only by the physical testaments of the past but the stories and vibration of those before us.
Just 25 years ago things were so very different in areas like The Vista and downtown. I remember videotaping Mayor Kirk Finley back in the 80's up by what is now Governor's Hill and looking down into a sand pit of weeds and trash which is now Finley Park. Finley in his southern belting voice talked of a vision for the city that has in many ways either been met or is in progress.
There's a lot going on in this historic town!
